Sketch Book
- woman's eyes
- practicing with eyes and gray scale and such.
- Organ Grinder
- For some reason, I’m intrigued by these street organ guys. It seems they were ubiquitous in the 1800s, and made money because people paid them to shut-up. In reality, I’ve never seen one, but the motif appears frequently in Buenos Aires. For example, F. Molina Campos, who I referenced for the sketch, depicts the organ grinder in his folk art. Additionally, I remember the image decorating la Boca. Perhaps I should throw this design, with accompanying filateros, on some coasters or something.
- Gauchos
- Here, I have been studying the work of F.Molina Campos. I’m following his style but trying to reduce the primitive and grotesque elements while maintaining the exquisite exaggerations.
- Face of a Girl
- This is simply a practice sketch. I'm playing with some crosshatching technique and attempting to capture the unusual expression of the individual.
